Monica, Dental Assistant Monica graduated from the dental assisting program at Southeast Community College in 2010 and has received board certification for her profession (CDA). She has been an employee of the practice since June of 2010. She states "ACFD is a family focused practice to help with all your dental needs. Our office is up to date and has the latest technology advances". A native of Kansas, Monica enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially nieces Emma and Alyssa, attending sporting events and cheering for the Jayhawks.
Chas, Hygiene Assistant Chas has been an employee of the practice since August of 2010. He likes the way the practice is run and feels that the staff is friendly and efficient. Chas spends his free time watching movies, bowling, and working on computers and cars.
Lisa, Registered Dental Hygienist Lisa graduated from UNMC College of Dentistry in May, 1987 with a BS in Dental Hygiene. She has practiced her profession with Dr. Hedlund and ACFD for a total of 24 years. A past president of the Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association, Lisa has served on the executive board for 19 years. She is currently the coordinator of the hygiene department at ACFD. Lisa lives in Syracuse with her children, Sydney and Cody and is active in her church. Music, gardening, and attending sporting activities, are among her hobbies. When asked to comment on the practice Lisa stated, "ACFD is a comprehensive family dental practice which strongly emphasizes oral health as it relates to overall systemic health. Our strengths include an experienced, friendly staff, professional technology and extended hours for patient convenience. I love my profession and I'm happy to be working in the health sciences. I thoroughly enjoy the daily interaction that I have with my patients and co-workers".
Amanda, Patient Coordinator Amanda became an employee of ACFD in December of 2006, after graduating from the dental assisting program at SCC the previous March. Having served the practice as a dental assistant and patient coordinator, Amanda understands all aspects of dentistry which is extremely valuable when assisting patients with treatment plans, insurance and scheduling appointments. She enjoys the opportunity to converse with every patient who walks through our door or calls our office. Amanda married her husband Lars in August of 2008, and her interests include; cooking, reading, spending time with Lars and her friends, and visiting her family in Auburn, Nebraska.
Carol, Registered Dental Hygienist Carol has been a Registered Dental Hygienist with Dr. Treat and ACFD for 22 years, prior to that she worked as a hygienist in a periodontal practice for 10 years. Her comments about the practice include, "Our Dr's give us a great deal of respect and appreciate our skills and knowledge. They consult with their hygiene team and value our thoughts on the best way to handle your periodontal health. Gums and the supporting bone structure are the hygienist specialty, hard tissue your teeth are the Dr's and we make a good team. I am proud to be a part of this practice because our Dr's respect and utilize our skills". Along with her husband of 32 years, Carol very much enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and time with family. They have four children (two by marriage) and three grandchildren. Each one makes them feel very proud and bring great joy into their lives.
Mattie, Registered Dental Hygienist Mattie is a 2009 graduate of UNMC West Division and has been an employee of ACFD since October of that year. She likes to play the piano and cook in her spare time. Mattie believes that "the entire team at ACFD works together in order to achieve the best experience for the patient".
Joanie, Practice Administrator Joanie’s career in Dentistry began with ACFD almost 15 years ago. Serving as the practice administrator, she states, “I truly appreciate the relationships that I have developed with the patients of our practice and the confidence that they have in our team. I am thankful and fortunate to work with an outstanding group of dental professionals who provide exceptional care to the patients of ACFD”. Joanie and her husband Kevin enjoy traveling and spending time with family, especially granddaughters, Kennedy and Avery.
Kristin, Registered Dental Hygienist Kristin graduated from UNMC College of Dentistry with a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene in May, 2004 and started her tenure with ACFD that same month. She is a member of the Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association and her hobbies include, traveling and spending time with family, specifically her nieces and nephews.
Kelsey, Hygiene Assistant Kelsey is the newest member of the ACFD dental team. A graduate of Dana College with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Kelsey is currently applying to dental schools. She states, "I enjoy the opportunity that my position provides me by meeting patients and getting to know them". Kelsey has four siblings including a twin sister and she enjoys working out, especially running, basketball, and lacrosse. She lists animals, farm work and dentistry among her interests.
